Rosh Chodesh Adar
Over 40 ladies of all ages gathered at the Gorsky-Kavkazi Center on
Tuesday to celebrate Rosh Chodesh Adar I and learn the
art of fruit and vegetable carving. Professional Esther Weitzer taught the
ladies how to make birds from apples, a baby carriage from honeydews,
flowers from zucchinis and other interesting projects from fruits and
vegetables. Each participant had a chance to try the garnishing and
carving techniques which they learned. Everyone enjoyed this activity and
was very excited to share the newly acquired knowledge with their friends
and family.
Earlier that night, everyone listened intently to
a lecture by Ms. Mechal Srour. She spoke about the beauty of Rosh Chodesh,
its significance to ladies and importance of celebrating this day. She
stressed that the month of Adar is especially joyous for the Jewish people
